This four day intensive course looks at a number of different aspects of 17th and 18th century furniture. The course will be based at a museums and country houses in the London and Home Counties area, covering English and Continental furniture.

Schedule

Day 1:  Furniture history in context

Day 2:  English furniture, Dr Adam Bowett, Geffrye Museum

Day 3  French & Continental furniture, Wallace Collection

Day 4:  Collectors, tour of West Wycombe Park and Waddesdon Manor

Additional requirements

The course fees will cover the entrance charges to all museums as well as some transport and special guest lecturers.

Paul Tear MBE

Paul was Head of Conservation at the Wallace Collection in London, where he lectured extensively on various aspect of French Furniture.

Adam Bowett

Adam is the author of numerous books and articles. Adam has also lectured extensively and is also a contributor to the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.
