Pre-Master's Course leading to master's programme
Duration: 12 weeks
Introduction:
The course is designed for the students whose
English language skills do not qualify them for a direct entry into
a Master's degree. It provides a sound foundation for overseas
applicants who have a Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant business
experience and who wish to proceed to an internationally recognised
Master's qualification. The course not only provides an opportunity
for these students to bring their English language skills to the
required level but also provides them an opportunity to analyse
fundamental issues in management.
The main aim of the programme is to introduce
students to the academic environment in the UK and give them the
linguistic skills necessary to begin their studies for a
postgraduate course.
Upon successful completion of the course the
students will be guaranteed a place in at least one of the
following Master's programmes at the University.
- Master of Business
Administration
- MSc International
Business
- MSc International Logistics
and Supply Chain Management
- MA Human Resource
Management
- MSc Air Transport
Management
- MSc Applied Computing
- MSc Telecommunications and
Network Management
- MSc E Business.
Programme Structure:
This course is based on four modules which
combines business subjects with intensive tuition in English. The
four modules are:
- English for academic
purposes
- extended writing
projects
- managing cross cultures
- business
environment.
Assessments:
The programme will be assessed 100 per
cent on coursework.
Entry Criteria:
Applicants for the programme should:
- have a recognised Honours degree or a 3 years Bachelors
degree
- have an overall IELTS score of 5.5
- have at least two years full-time relevant business work
experience (only for MBA).
Programme Fees:
The programme fees include the fee for the
Pre-Masters programme and the leading Masters programme. The total
duration of the course would be 15-18 months.
