Buckinghamshire New University has won the Education Provider of the Year (post-registration) award at the 2015 Student Nursing Times Awards.
Professor Alison Chambers, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Society & Health said:
'We are very proud to win this award category which recognises outstanding universities that demonstrate excellence in providing an educational environment that nurtures and develops the talent of qualified nurses or midwives; have teaching staff who inspire, enthuse and motivate as well as educate and develop; and teaching methods that enrich the learning experience and deepen understanding.
One of our recent graduates, Claire Foley was also shortlisted from hundreds of entries for the Student Child Nurse of the Year award and we're very proud of her achievement too.'
Jenni Middleton, Editor of Nursing Times and Student Nursing Times said:
"These awards demonstrate how much qualified nurses supporting those training to be nurses and student nurses are achieving. Every year we hear about fantastic new talent entering the profession, as well as excellent educators and mentors in universities and clinical placements. This event shows the nursing profession is in very safe hands because there is passion and expertise emerging in the next generation of nurses. And the people and organisations shaping those nurses evidently offer tremendous inspiration and practical support. I am incredibly proud of all our finalists and winners. Congratulations to them all."
Buckinghamshire New University sponsored the Outstanding Contribution to Student Affairs award which was presented by Vice-Chancellor Professor Rebecca Bunting to Victoria Arthur from the University of Manchester.
