The Course
Our
degree is a full-time, three year programme leading to a
professional qualification in social work, as well as an academic
award.
We’re certain that what you learn with us will
change the way you see yourself and others, challenging the
stereotypes and questioning assumptions about age, disability,
ethnicity and gender.
You’ll also explore the balance between an
individual’s place in society and the effect of society upon
individuals, and look at how effective social work empowers people
to take control of their lives.
There are several core areas of knowledge you
will acquire during your studies, including the service delivery
context, values and ethics, social work theory and the nature of
social work practice. You’ll develop a number of core skills too,
from problem solving and communication to teamwork and
research.
